Further to our previous newsfeed on this, the Cyprus Tax Department issued an announcement on 21 February 2024 in order to notify the change in the payment terms of Special Contribution for Defense (SCD) withheld at source on rental payments.
The tax should be paid in two instalments, by 30 June and
31 December, in relation to the respective semesters of the year. The same
holds for General Health System (GHS) contributions withheld at source on the
same payments. So far the amounts withheld at source were paid to the Tax
Department on a monthly basis.
The payments can be done
through the Tax Portal.
