With a decree published in the
Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus on 29 December 2023, the Minister of
Finance has increased the public interest rate for 2024 to 5% (2023: 2.25%).
The said rate is used, amongst
other, to calculate the interest charge on late payment of tax liabilities and
penalties.
